We do not accept travel-groups, seminars, meetings, organized meals, nor official celebrations. The Lounges, Restaurants and the Lounge-Piano-Bar are spacious, clear with vast windows; they are for residents only, except the Restaurant Français. *** MKANDERSTEG is a small, friendly village-resort, spread over 4 km on a green plateau with meadows, trees, rivers and a tiny lake - enjoy a very original ambiance, not sophisticated. A ramblers paradise around Kandersteg : Three valleys offer a nature protected region up to the crystal glaciers (3600m). Even a trip to the largest glacier of Switzerland is possible (Aletsch-glacier, 2 hrs). *** Best situation for EXCURSIONS : in the middle of the Bernese Oberland and direct access to the south and north of the Alpine mountains (tunnel: train & cars, 15 min. "Rotisserie", for classic dining served friendly in impeccable style. Dress code: sportive in daytime, festive the evenings, "casual elegance", gentlemen wear a jacket. Four times weekly candlelight dinners with soft piano music on the Steinway grand piano. Half board, or "à la carte" service. Monumental open Fireplace with grill and spit, roast beef-wagons, flambé-wagon, cheese- and sorbet-wagon. We serve you at the hors d?oeuvre-buffet, the salad buffet, or at the buffet for a nice choice of sweets. Comfortable tables, plenty of space around. Spacious windows offer splendid, free views to park-side and glaciers. Natural cuisine, fine and light, without fancy garnishing. (No pre-prepared and re-cooked plates). Breakfast and Lunch served also on the terrace in the garden, on pool-side. *** "Restaurant Français": a small Restaurant with "à la carte" service separately billed. The same dress code. Table-reservation requested. *** "Taverna", especially for fondue and râclette, open on evenings, to reserve the day before.
Our strengths are small and exquisite functions . Banquets, groups and conferences only are accepted during the periods of end of March to mid June and from end of September to id December. The purpose is to separate two completely different guest structures (one with individual, the other with group character) and to take care of each segments specific needs entirely. Due to the size of the hotel, the maximum number of participants is limited to 28 at single occupancy or 53 at double occupancy of the rooms. However, if you book 20 rooms or more for your function, the entire hotel is exclusively at your disposal. In our packages are included: room rate, meal plan, rental of the function room and the free use of our sports and wellness facilities (without lessons or special treatments). Health Resort: Unesco Wold Nature Heritage. Perfect privacy: no travel groups, no meetings. "Private Beauty, Health-Resort & Spa" for hotel-residents only, there is no public spa club. In the own park-grounds and gardens, with lawns and old trees, we made a new biological pool in addition to the indoor-pool. Treatments : THALASSO BEAUTY and THALASSO HEALTH, Shiatsu, Hot-Stone-Therapy, Fango, massages, physiotherapy, hair styling, etc. The Roman steam bath, sauna, solarium, whirlpool are charged separately. *** In addition to our treatments you enjoy a grand scale of sports and leisure, the hotel offers itself, as tennis with trainer, small riding stables with paddock and dressing area for lessons and guided excursions. On the Lake of Thoune you enjoy our own small sailing boat for 4 persons, our sailing yacht for 7 persons, and our motorboat with 350 HP for 8 persons for excursions, waterski and sun bathing. (An afternoon water sports costs Fr 50.- per person). Guided mountain hiking, mountain-bikes, gymfit track in the woods nearby. *** In WINTER Kandersteg is best for "EASY SKIING", on the gentil pists. Experts of speed are somewhere else (!) Try snowboarding, cross country skiing (60 km) and ?nordic walking? (50 km). Curling, skating, hockey at the covered ice rink. Toboggan run from Oeschinen or on the old bobsleigh run, or in the evening on moonlight with torches and hot wine, offered by the sympathy staff of the Royal Park Hotel. On our south terrace you get a sun tan like on a glacier-summit.
